About Your Seventh-day Adventists Friends

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant church with approximately 20.7 million members worldwide.  This church was established by God for these last days to prepare a people to meet their maker, to be the repairer of the breach, to preach the everlasting gospel to a dying world, and to let people know that Jesus is coming very soon.

Adventists believe in the GodHead composed the Heavenly Trio — God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, willingly came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone who accepted Him as Lord and Savior of their souls.

When He returned to heaven following His resurrection to continue the work for the salvation of souls, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor and to convict us of our sins. He promised to return to earth a second time to take His people throughout all of earth history to heaven for a thousand years. After the thousand years, He will return with the New Jerusalem, render final punishment to Satan and all those who during their lifetime refused to surrender their sins to Jesus, remake the world anew, and make the world the capital of the universe.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of every human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, dress, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.

  • CHRIST — Jesus is the Divine Son of God. He is God who took upon Himself the form of a human to come and be a substitute for us.  He took upon himself our punishment which is eternal death so that He can give us what is His, Eternal Life.. He is eternal from eternity to eternity and self-existent and is not a created being. He is fully God and man. Jesus is the Creator of all things. Hebrews 1:1–3; Colossians 1:16–18.
  • CROSS — Jesus paid the penalty for man’s sin through His suffering and death on the cross of Calvary. Only He, the Sinless One, could pay our sin-debt. “The wages of sin is death,” but by believing on Him and accepting the grace of His shed blood, we receive the gift of eternal life, “not of works, lest any man should boast.” Romans 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:19Ephesians 2:9.
  • COMMANDMENTS — Exodus 20:1-17 - Because we love Jesus for His sacrificial death, we want to obey Him as He commands us in John 14:15. We are called not only to obey the letter of the law but also the spirit of the law in Matthew 5. We are not saved by our works. Works, not for anyone to boast, is only to be a fruit of God's salvific power working in ones life daily.  Because of our saving relationship with Christ, and through His power alone we can keep His commandments as the guide for successful living.  His commandments are not burdensome.
  • COMING AGAIN — One of the greatest promises in the Bible is that Jesus will return to this earth very soon!  He is even at the door.  Bible prophecy reveals that very fact based on the events we see happening in our world today. We call ourselves Adventists because we are anticipating the “advent,” or return, of Jesus when He will take His people back to heaven with Him.  But we also believe that before this second coming, Satan will do a counterfeit 2nd coming where he will masquerade himself as Christ to receive worship from God's creation all over there world.
